Webelos Scout Rules
1. Every sled team will consist of at least four Webelos scouts but no more than eight Webelos scouts
2. Sled design should be creative, but no wheels or motors are permitted.
3. Registration will begin at 9:15 AM at the “Olympic Lodge” following the opening ceremony.
4. Teams may not begin until after they have been checked in and the derby is officially started following the torch lighting ceremony.
5. Every member of the sled team must remain with their sled at all times during the Klondike Derby.
6. Teams may in no way hamper the progress of other teams.
7. Sled teams are encourage to compete at all the Olympic Host Country sites designated for Webelos Scouts AND visit all the other site in order to collect the information needed to complete the Olympic and Scout Lore scavenger hunt. (Questionnaire will be provided at check-in; all answers will be posted on official Olympic Boards at each host site and at Inukshuk Square)
8. All host country sites will close between 12:00 Noon and 12:30 PM.
9. Each team must turn in their score sheet by 2:00 PM inside the Olympic Lodge where they will be issued 8 patches and 1 participation ribbon.
10. All Webelos teams are invited to participate in the fire-building challenge at 2:00 PM
Scoring
1. A maximum of 10 points will be issued at all site EXCEPT for France where 20 Points will be awarded for a perfect score. 60 maximum points are possible.
2. The sled team that accumulates the most points will be declared the winner. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to all 8 members of the first second and third place teams.
3. In the event of a tie, the team that wins the firebuilding challenge will be victorious!
